Spirits Spilling Out The Gallery of
Visual Arts at the University of Montana presents this extraordinary collection of work
from Papua New Guinea along with the work of Stephen and Bev Beck Glueckert.
The two Missoula artists lived and traveled throughout Papua New
Guinea during Stephen's year of teaching sculpture at the University of Papua New Guinea
located in Port Moresby. The exhibition includes traditional art and
artifacts, contemporary paintings, and work by Stephen and Bev combined into a
cross-cultural visual narrative of their experience. The exhibition gives a rich
understanding of the cultural impact the experience had on their work.
