This year marks the 32nd anniversary
of the Yellowstone Art Museum's Annual Art
Auction.
The first
Art Auction occurred in 1968 on the second floor of the original
museum building, the former Yellowstone County Jail. Over the
years the auction has become a major exhibition, attracting capacity
crowds to the main ballroom of the Sheraton Billings Hotel for the
auction evening.
The Auction is an opportunity to
expose museum members and a general audience to the work of the region's
finest artists. Since its inauguration, the auction has continued
to grow and has now become one of the finest benefit art auctions in
the region.
The exhibition continues through
Friday, March 10, 2000. The auction evening is scheduled for
Saturday, March 11, 2000, at the Sheraton Billings Hotel.
Reservations for the auction evening may be made by calling the museum
at 256-6804.
Kampgrounds of America has
traditionally sponsored the auction and will be joined this year by US
Bank. The auction committee is chaired by Daryl and Carol
Beam. Many artists have donated their work to benefit the museum.

the auction visit the Yellowstone
